i agree that there is a better way. how about looking the the mans qualifications before disqualifying him because he is light skinned. i can think of a whole heap of people who are dark skinned and are in leadership positions, that do represent the needs of africans:
condoleeza rice
jc watts
alan keyes
clarence thomas
etc.

all of these folks are 'dark-skinned' 'african americans.'

with this said, i dont think anyone would disagree that colorism is not a real issue, but it seems that many people cant get past the mans skin color and possobly research his character.

it is also interesting that there was never any words at all on this board regarding the state of 'pan africa affairs in barbados, until dr tafari was elected or selected to a position of leadership.

there seems to be a fixation on this board regarding skin color that is akin to obsessiveness.

i would rather dr tafari be in a leadership position before a dark skin clarence thomas type any day.
