A. This board is not gov't. funded. The position that Dr. Tafari holds is gov't. funded. RasTafari are crying about a gov't. appointment. They are caring about an Anglo structure and not pooling their own money and doing their own cultural exchange.
B. I am not suggesting that colorism be catered to. I am saying that colorism is crushed by the elevation of an Afrikan consciousness. This fixation on hue by the black population is a direct result of colonialism, etc. Black people have enough information to counteract this.
C. If using some Carribean definition of "Black," Haile Selassie I could not run that organization. He's yellow.
D. Just because colorism was used to control the black population it doesn't mean that black people have to maintain that same mindset. Break free and do something for self.
E. In my country, USA, when this Willie Lynchism is dealt with by the black population, advances have been made.
F. If this man's only disqualifying trait is that he is too "bright" than that shows how shallow and fickle the black population and RasTafari population of Barbados is. If he's ineffective, kick him out and replace him. If he's too close to white, the offended black population of Barbados is fickle and small-minded and should not expect liberation (physical or mental)anytime soon.
G. Again, Willie Lynchism. Let's talk about it.
H. Almost everyone in Barbados is not as dark as many from South Afrika. Are they disqualified to develop or speak of a Black/Afrikan consciousness.
