"Throughout history it has been the inaction of those who could have acted, the indifference of those who should have known better and the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered the most, that has made it possible for evil to triumph"
- Haile Selassie
Firstly I would state Rastafari is livity not a commercial fantasy. Rastafarianism is not a racist doctrine.Rastafari doesn't conform to the ignorant norms of society such as ignorance, timidty and racism those are such the great enslavements of the mind.
As I stated when I first posted I wanted to gather everyone opinion on it both old and young to see where yall where standing, and from reading all the replies and studying them many showcase they are against Ikael Tafari post and few are for it that cause me to wonder and alot of why it could be came to my mind but then I remember the colour and many of those who are against this move my government has made share the same views n slight thinking of the rastafarians that live here.
In my view I believes he deserves this post no elder black rastafarian came forward when the deputy post was vacant or even made an attempt but Ikael took it and it had for 5 years and no rastafari here complain about it all of them were saying how much good work he doing and so forth but now that the chairman post became vacant and still no black elder rastafarian came forward but Dr.Ikael Tafari took it upon himself to be the voice for the rastafarians here then they start to crucify him. I think him being the smart man he is knew the challenge he took of accepting and choose to fight it, Honestly im a babe in the faith but many of you seem to have skipped H.I.M speech where he was talking On the question of racial discrimination, the Addis Ababa Conference taught, to those who will learn, this further lesson: That until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned: That until there are no longer first-class and second class citizens of any nation; That until the color of a man's skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes; That until the basic human rights are equally guaranteed to all without regard to race; That until that day, the dream of lasting peace and world citizenship and the rule of international morality will remain but a fleeting illusion, to be pursued but never attained; And until the ignoble and unhappy regimes that hold our brothers in Angola, in Mozambique and in South Africa in subhuman bondage have been toppled and destroyed; Until bigotry and prejudice and malicious and inhuman self-interest have been replaced by understanding and tolerance and good-will; Until all Africans stand and speak as free beings, equal in the eyes of all men, as they are in the eyes of Heaven; Until that day, the African continent will not know peace. We Africans will fight, if necessary and we know that we shall win, as we are confident in the victory of good over evil.
To wrap up I think he should be embraced just as any black Rastafarian cause many of you have embraced such but choose not to state I wonder y then again I think you all should just Study It.
