********Who can tell I how/why black people in the west have become obsessed with being Israelite stock when clearly, our roots come from the western part of the Afrikan continent, where their is less Israelite influence. ********

Because of the negative/inferiority stigma absorbed by slavery, ones are prone to jump aboard something that restores pride or identity. Being a "chosen" and "God-loved" israelite is better than being some regular "nigger". Plus israelite culture is depicted as "civilized" compared to the engrainment of Afrikans being savages and uncivilized and unsaved, etc.

Its just another egotistical picker-upper notion that separates ones "from the pack".

Its the result of accepting hierarchy whereas ones seek to be of something better than or more than everyone else.

And in all honesty, it is not the only notion that fits the bill.
