Seen, and I agree with you. My point about Muta though, was that he does seem to sight Haile Selassie I *in particular* as the almighty in flesh. At least that is what you would think from songs like "Bone Lies", Psalm 23 with Luciano, and from statements he has made. If he thinks that Haile Selassie is only one of an infinte number of manifestations of "god", he hasn't come out and said so to my knowledge. So you could say he has that "old school" Rasta view of Selassie, specifically, as the almighty (I know not all "old school" rastas saw it like this, but it seems like most did, at any rate that is the way the tradition has been passed down for the most part). But he does not fit in at all with how you characterized those who sight His Majesty specifically as god in your first post. That was the point of bringing up Muta... that having the "old school" concept of who Selassie is, does not necessarily mean that one is color-struck, in denial about one's west african heritage and cultural traditions, etc.
Anyway I won't drag out the reasoning any longer since basically I agree with you... and thanks for enlightening I a bit about Yoruba language and culture as well. Alright... time to leave the internet and get to work.
PS b4 I go... you wrong about rasi, he ain't no uncle tom type, just had to say that cos I know the brudda personally and what he is about... memba you can't tell everything about a person from couple posts on the internet, sight? Iight peace and I'm out.
