I do think that most people who hail Ras Tafari focus on Ethiopia. But if ones really looked at Haile Selassie the man, they would know that he fought for the liberation of Afrikans from Cape to Cairo. I personally think that was his goal in forming the OAU. HIM said, "OUR liberty is meaningless unless ALL Afrikans are free."

He did not say just Ethiopians or just Eritreans, etc. He said ALL Afrikans.

It would be a general statement to say that ALL Rastas subscribe to one particular school of thought. I think some Rastas view of Afrika depends on if they have even been to Afrika. If they have never set foot there, they may have the tendency to romanticize Afrika. It is obvious that many romanticize Ethiopia. Some even say that Ethiopia is Zion and not the whole of Afrika.

Some long to be with Ethiopia women and not Ghanian women, Congolese women, Nigeria women, etc. This could be based off of wille lychism or preference. I will not generalize but it is one or the other.

I will not type a long winded post. I think ones look at Ras Tafari as a religion as if there is ONE set of doctrine, beliefs, and rituals that one has to partake in order to dare I say, be initiated into Rastafari. That is the way some are acting as if you have to do this or that. I am glad I do not subscribe to that brand of Rastafari. I have a free mind and free thought and I will use it. This is for my life, not others.
