I suppose this is where the principle of "turn the other cheek" comes in. Or, "Let us move on" as tony blah said.
I have wondered what this world would be like if we Africans ever developed the ability to feel what our ancestors experienced. What kind of beings would we be, if like devout catlicks, we were able to physically feel the stripes on the back and the pain of amputated limbs. If, we were able to recall from memory, the mental and physical anguish that went with being the permenently staked out victims of institutionalised rape gangs.
What feeling would come into our minds when we looked into faces that resembled the faces of the governing demons during our ancestor's journey into hell?
Hard to imagine.
Bad enough that, if we listen hard enough, we can hear thier voices. Which is why we need 'religion'. We need something that will place 'love' above everything else. We need fairy tales strong enough to blot out the voices from the past. We need dr onelove to medicate our istorical sense into numbness.
Otherwise, how would the descendants of the demons be able to get a good night's sleep? They would have to take turns watching out for vengeance, they would need 'defence' ; they would have to get themselves some weapons of mass destruction.
