I am not sure what is faux about my statement. I require an explanation. I understand Pan Africanism to be the unification of Africans in support of the Continent, regardless of where we happen to be at the moment. Everyone cannot afford to up and move back to Africa, we have families here where we are and we love them and want to stay with them. African culture can be practiced anywhere on the planet, that was my point. I can be supportive of African culture from where I live in America. What is false about what I said, please expalin?
Furthermore, Africa is not unified socially because it has a great breadth and wealth of cultural differences on the Continent. I have met handkerchief headed Africans who are annoyed that I am about African liberation the same as many African Americans and then those who love and apppreciate the work I do. I have met COntinental and diasporic Africans who understand that there is a bigger picture of creating a support network for Africans to see themselves as a unit. Kind of the many fingers one hand approach.
