Here are my comments about some views I read on the board recently about people's "inability to grasp absolute truths".

I am not trying to convince anyone who believes in people's inability to grasp absolute truths to change their view in any way. They are entitled to their views. I am simply putting on record MY disagreement with that line of reasoning.

I am conscious of MANY absolute truths. I have shared several during debates on this board. The fact that some may not see some of my views as absolute truths simply means they do not see things the way I do. They are entitled to think that I am wrong to the same extent that I think they are absolutely wrong.

How do some people KNOW that human beings are incapable of knowing absolute truth? How are they certain that what they are stating here is the truth? Their conjecture that people cannot FATHOM absolute truth suggests that they are not absolutely certain about anything. In their assumption, they could be projecting their personal uncertainty when they claim that "our minds are unable to grasp absolute truth".

If some feel that they do not have the ability to grasp absolute truths, then what criteria are they using when saying that others cannot or do not have such abilities? This idea is akin to using one's own weakness or shortcomings to measure others. If they cannot know absolute truth (in their view) then whatever they are saying is simply relative to their understanding and is subject to change at anytime. They do not KNOW right from wrong. They should not be emphatic about anything unless they are absolutely sure (as they could be absolutely wrong).

Some feel that absolute truths can evolve. Absolute truths do not evolve, but aspects of those truths can be transposed into different situations as matter evolves. The truth can be multilayered and the more one develops the more they can grasp the many layers of truth to an understanding of absolute truth.

One's UNDERSTANDING has to be evolving so that one could grasp more dimensions of issues and truth. Certainly, the truth in a given situation should apply in all other similar situations. If not, those people have not understood (fathomed) the truth as yet.

These are two absolute truths that I have experienced long before there was genetic confirmation of our origins.

1) All humans share a common African ancestry.

2) All of life shares a common universal origin.

There are many more.
