Re: Ras Marcus Speaks on the Rasta Movement

Good works, nice presentation; but that was then and this is now. Things presented on this board that is new to man and man; concernng African culture and the bible, was started a long time ago and continued in earnest by InI who came to the US as youth. This is linked to the intellectual works of J.A. Rogers, Dr. BEN and DR. Clark primarily. And I doan't care how much Babywrong law they make, Ganjah is the healing of the nation. Ganjah can make five thousand different products; one does'nt have to smoke it. Being weary of the struggle can make one shell shocked and weak kneed. These criminals make laws which relagate InI culture to illegality. This fosters their economic control over InI assigning InI to a position of servants in InI own house. A one might be scared of immigration or other punitive measures, but InI
CULTURAL LIBERATION is a must. Back a Yaard it was a movement but now RastafarI is a CULTURE.
And as far as the usage of herb is concerned; it is the stucture and function of its usage in ritual that's important. Use it but like anything else; doant abuse it.

I suppose you doant know bout the elders, when visiting the US could'nt pass a Kentucky Fry; due to the flow of Pavlovian Juices. A one had to draw breaks in the middle of the Highway. One has to be cuturally strong, or else you cyant resist the IMF, World Bank and other vagaries of the Babywrong SHITSTEM.

The depth of Rasta is profound. The knowledge was always there in Yaard. However, it was held by a few; mainly Bald Head Rasses. Remember Howell was into mysticism; that's why he is called GONG. Over forty years ago when InI decided to use Reggae as a medium showing the plight of Black African Peoples; we had'nt realised that other peoples share and feel the same pain of BABYLON DOWNPRESSION. It is said that as one grows one learns. Leaders who form
organisations on immoral and unethical foundations, will fail. I am talking about false claims, illogical thoughts, outright miss represantation, and aggrandizment of spiritual self exaltion. I man give thanks to Gong1, Gong2, Planno, Congo Stone, Mr Scarlett, Don Drummond, Sam Brown; and the ones who forward the works to the US Gabriel, Dread Roy, Breddah Cool Breeze and Niahbingi. I cyant leave out Jah Loydd and all the players of instruements chanting concious lyrics;Jacob, Bunny, Peter, Culture etc. And then there is Ras Walter Rodney and the Idrines in Granada who led the revolutionary struggle which brought Bishop to power. They might not be perfect but they laid the foundation which we currently stand as RastafarI people and culture.

Back then, InI primary concern was lifting the Colonial Yoke of sub human treatment and classification of InI people in Africa and the World, becuase the shituation reflected negatively on all Black Peoples and Africans in particular. In the process, we have pruduced a gold mine or one might say many gold mines. The problem is, we are'nt in the driving seat. I man had intended starting a thread called: RastafarI resources, economy and industry; where the aforementioned can be further delved into.
I hope I reflections does'nt come accross as disjointed.
Give Thanks; Salem en Fekir Africa Desta.
