I think the situation you are trying to elucidate and address is not so much "Garvey" or "Selassie " Rasta but the slow Christianization of Rastafari which will eventually lead to the westernization of Rastafari .

Selassie was a "TOOL" used by Rasta To reconnect the black masses to Africa , but many has now deify HIM , in the same manner christians have deify Jesus . Changing the movement of Jah people into a religion of worshippers and theological dogmatist . Now they sit in prayer and worship waiting on superman or the return of Selassie insome new form or incarnation- great sky God to come and make all things right . A total DENIAL and NEGLECT of their RESPONSIBILITY to CREATE anew AFRICA , they have failed to make the step to the realization of their own DIVINITY .
