The point being made is we do not know who is who face-to-face and this is more so over the Internet. These sensitive questions reveal a lot.

Who has the fears here, the people so protective of Whites around them or the person willing to ask them what is in their mind? Just maybe they are not afraid to question Whites as easily as they question Blacks? Your response can be seen as a projection of your OWN fears.

This quote is unappreciative of the Black struggle for self-recognition and determination. While I know race is not the determining factor of the character of an individual, we know that Racism has affected most of us so questioning WHITE motives and BLACK motives is VERY VERY GOOD indeed!!! That quote implies that the struggle to define the African place in the World amiss with White lies about Black worth is useless and I must accept Whites without questioning if they have a change in attitude. If that is what Rasta means then it is promoting ignorance.
