Just wanted to add my personal experience with a few Rastafari Bredren of a primarily European background. These young (early 20's)bredrens are called to be devout followers of Haile Selasse I and are extremely focussed on helping to further develop Ethiopia. The foundation and precepts they have within are the same as any true RasTafari. It is true that an integral part of the Rastafari movement is an African struggle for equality, justice and independance. Though these bredren may not have had Ancestors coming through captivity and may not have recieved unequal treatment because of skin colour, they are still percieved as Rasta and prone to much scorn and criticism from Babylonians who classify them as Bob Marley wanna be's or Potheads(common stereotypes for InI)etc. They are not here to please the world but have responded to the Father's call and are helping to complete the victory of Good over Evil.
