I would say that greedy, as well as generous people came along when people came along.

I would figure it was some one/group who had a feeling of inadequacy in their ability to survive, so they felt they had to hoard to ensure survival.

I really cant answer that question with any certainity. I can only speculate.

People have been around a long time.
