I sight the ability to transport water to certain areas as the "first innovation" because water is the key to life.

Farming is not hierarchal. If every group is allowed to grow their own crops without interference, it is a symbiotic relationship. But with the advent of owning land and controlling water supplies, farming became controlled by greedy people...the seeds of agriculture. Then food supplies were controlled, land was raped and the relationship with the earth became totally parasitic.

If farming is indeed the tilling of the soil, then it is a feminine concept because the earth is personified as female. It is from where all life springs forth.
