Death is indeed a thing that is presented as the end instead of the beginning (of the next phase).
The SYSTEM would want many to believe in their concepts of death; Limbo, Purgatory, Heaven and Hell etc. But if their misconceptions of life is anything to go by, then what is to say they can really tell you about what happens to you in death!
Other than the consciousness (Life force, soul intelligence) leaving your body, there isn't anyone on earth who can tell or reveal the truth about death!
However, in terms of burial, One cannot simply leave a carcass to rot, that would be unhygienic,
Furthermore as pointed out earlier , If you associate with the person who has departed, why should you not be able to commemorate the person who you once knew?
The issue re coming against dead bodies is an instruction that has been distorted (out of context) by those biblical scholars. I accept that once a person has departed then their structure is just an husk! However, the decision whether to bury the person, or not, is a decision that is entirely up to the surviving individual and its not dependent upon how they may want to interpret scriptures or a next persons reasoning!
