I give thanks Makeda,
Your book sounds very helpful and interesting -and from the way it sounds, it will certainly be a benefit to human-kind and Rastafari in terms of working out all the questions we have deep within (about eachother, etc...) and hopefully will help bring understanding and solutions to the troubles and division that I&I experience Iniversally.
You shared a quote written by Ras Guilia Bonacci:
"if this element constitutive of Rastafari movement -- race consciousness -- does not appear among Italian Rastafarians, is it another movement? In another way: is the divinity of Haile Selassie I more or less constitutive than the race consciousness to the movement?"
and it kind of echoed one of many conclusions I came to the other day and that is: if Rastafarians (of all races)exclude eachother in various ways for various reasons are we then asking for A revolution within THE revolution? Why let it go that far... but at the same time don't we have to be careful not to stray too far from it's roots, message and culture(like a few recent posts have been mentioning)? I suppose I&I should then celebrate and utilize our diversity to the fullest instead of using it against I-selves (as rootsierootsie has mentioned).
I'm running off at the mouth again (Where's the off button?)
Anyhow, respect for all your hard work and thanks again for the kind words and also for the extra info that made I&I think a little harder. ('black religion' and there not being any 'white rasta elders' etc... will continue to meditate and expand pon these things - probably for life.)
Also that is fine and would be honored if you decide to use some of my thoughts on the subject in your book. That's great to help in any way.
Was also wondering if there is any way I could read the entire paper Guilia Bonacci has written. Is it possibly on the net somewhere? If you have the time, would greatly appreciate it if you could either post it or let me know where I can find it - it greatly interests me and would also like to learn more of what others have been saying around the globe.
Well, I hope you have a wonderful day. One Soul, Heather
