Re: What do blacks not want as white rasta objecti

Blessings, Heather,
I have enjoyed your responses to this "white Rasta" issue and especially this most recent one. I like the rhetorical questions you ask, namely:

"So what should white rastas cross off their list of objectives (so to speak)?
Shall it be freeing all peoples from suffering, oppression and ALL forms of mental slavery?
Shall it be the fight of good over evil?
Shall it be escaping babylon and its shitsematic ills?"

I agree with you, Heather, that all REAL Rastas seem to be united on the above, irrespective of their skin colour.

I found myself conversing today with another "white Rasta" and when I asked how come she was so committed to REPATRIATION and REPARATIONS, she said with eyes wide open as if surprised I did not know:
"Because it is the only way for the world to be healed, for the Black race to return to its rightful place to rule earth from Africa, to rule with Peace and Love. Only Rasta can show the way."

She also pointed out that there are as yet no "elder" "white Rastas" because of the fact that most Whites became Rasta because of hearing reggae music, which only came to them in the past 25-30 years. Reggae music has taught them the principles of Rastafari, and converted them. So there is nothing we can do about it now, nothing we can do to change the fact that Eric Clapton and Johnnie Nash and Chris Blackwell put Bob Marley's music out into the ears and conscicousness of the wide, White world and with it, put Rasta into their ears and consciousness also.

JAH knows His purpose and ALL have a role to play, because ALL are JAH's children. Yes, there are wolves in sheeps clothing, but we knew that from the time when Rasta was a Black-only movement. Nuff a dem still dey 'bout!!!!!!

What about those of I&I who are "half-white", who have European blood in their genes and skin colour? Do they not have a role to play? Or is it only a "half" role?

By your deeds shall ye be known. So shall ALL Rastas be judged, by their livity and works.

So, my curiosity about these "white Rastas" led me to be bold enough to ask them some questions, like all of us "original Rastas" always feel like asking them. Like" How come you are in a Black religion? Do you see Selassie as God? What is Africa to you? And more....

The answers I am receiving are revealing, and highly interesting. Putting them in print form will enable all to read and make their own judgment.

I will close this post with another quote from "Heather":

"It is I sincere hope and prayer that all Rasta and all peoples be freed from the shitstem. We are ALL suffering from its ills... worldwide. it is I sincere hope and prayer that ALL Rasta are freed from ALL forms of mental slavery."

PRAISE JAH RASTAFARI!!!!!

We truly need REPARATIONS NOW!!!

ONE LOVE
Makeda
