I appreciate this dialougue, and beg for forgiveness if I seemed rude yesterday....still trying to find a job, and a little frustrated at not having enough money for my family....it seems that is a problem for whites and blacks,, eh? ;-) I totally see what you are saying, and do not for a minute deny the reality of racism in today's world.

I do have one question for the board, though, and I was going to post it up top, but this is as good as time as any: why is there such generalizations as "Blacks" and "Whites" when discussing history? "Whites did this and this and this to Blacks etc etc" When most of the Europeans were suffering at the hands of the rich. The common, everyday joe of Europe had no control whatsoever of what their monarchs were doing in other parts of the world, and if they so choosed to stand up, they would literally be hung by their ****! And just as most Africans were not responsible for the slave trade, there were Africans that were. It is a well known fact that the Ashante tribe was the first to sell a slave, in order to get guns from the Portugese, in order to expand on their own territory. Seems the devil knows no color differences...ego is ego, straight and simple.

I guess my point is that maybe when discussing race issues, and having dialogue, we shopuldn't use over-generalizing terms and historical facts.

One other thing, I see your point about the McDonalds-thing...great analogy. I'm gonna run that through my thinking cap today. :-)

I hope I don't offend anybody with my honest thoughts and ideas, I don't like faking it and try to be somebody I am not. I have been turning these questions over for years now, and still don't have any solutions for us to not miss the mark anymore.
