Re: don't CONfuse.
In Response To: Re: don't CONfuse. ()

thank's for the definition of I&I, since i was wondering what it could be. Just want to say that I like very much your postings. However, being an outsider I do ask myself if I could meet any of you as friend? I know little if anything of what Rasta stands for. But I do know that I never have liked groups which believe that they, the insiders are the chosen few, the one's which know better, etc. In my experience these people not only had big problems with their own ego, but at times even became agressiv and militant. But then I do feel that 'Rasta' could stand for harmony much more than for divisions. I am very surprised to find so many hard feelings here for what has happened to - well, - in this case a certain race, black people - awful history. What about the original people living on your continent before the 'conquista'? I just can wish that anybody traumatized by history can liberate himself from it's predicaments. What else can I say, having been born and brought up in europe, the very land hitler was born in? - I've spent the bigger part of my adult life outside this continent, and everywhere I am confronted with unimaginable suffering 'my' race has brought to this world, and it's not over. Very often I do feel deeply ashamed. Still I refuse to feel responsibilty for that history for having the same color of skin as most of the exponents have. I do feel responsible with that history as human though. I do believe that it is an error and not helpful to link that to a certain race.
Can we tear down the borders and come to a real understanding from human to human? Am I just another romantic?
Let's hope and work for every individual to know himself and to be able to meet his fellow being upright. Sure I must learn more about history of Africa, but then only to brush it aside in the actual encounter. I am very sad learning from one of your postings that in T.T nowadays a minority of whites are pulling the strings. The mighty, the one's pulling the strings are mostly brutal and false, working ruthlessly for their own ends. ( and this not only the 'mighty' do, but their means are different ) I believe that doesn't necesarily have to do with their race. Sad though that it's white people, though they are a minority. It's a very big achievement of any black, can he not hate the whites. Still I hope for all of us that many do achieve.
Wish you all the best in case you are working to better the situation for the poor and rightless. Is the 'mental slavery' not very often something inside us, and couldn't it be our own responsiblity to soften up inside, to heal ourselves and our world?
My best wishes and regards,
kuuan
