ZIMBABWE: A HISTORY OF STRONG AGRICULTURE *LINK*

ARE THE FARMERS GOING TO PLANT FOOD FOR ZIMBABWEAS OR TOBACCO AND OTHER CASH CROPS FOR EUROPEANS

A thorough knowledge of Zimbabwe's history is needed in order to understand why Zimbabwe has long, long history of advaced agriculture and animal husbadry.

Chanellor Williams (Destruction of Black Civilization,"pub. by Third World Press, Chicago, Illinois, USA...and others, "Susu Economics," pub. by www.AuthorHouse.com ) point out and show that Zimbabwe had a thriving agriculture, cattle, gold, iron production, cotten weaving, rice terrasing ad planting....and multi-industrial/crafts industry earlier than 500 to 1000 BC. In fact, (Susu Economics, pub. by www.AuthorHouse.com ) the Great Zimbabwe stone structures were being built earlier than 300 BC, when Zimbabwe was a major center of iron ignot production, gold bars, cotton and other products. Much of the steel called 'Damascus Steel,' actually came from Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe's cattle industry was in existence as early as 1000 BC. It was an industry rather than mere pastoralism, which has been part of Zimbabwe and Southern African culture since prehistoric times (as wall and stone paintings and etchings clearly indicate.) In fact, the Lemvo (Southern Africa's African Jews who are originally from Yemen) were traders with Africans in Zimbabwe about 1000 BC. The Egyptians and Kushites, Ethiopians and the early Swahili (Negau, Puntiu 2000 BC to 500 AD) alson with known Egyptians like Hatshepsuit, Sahure, Nikkau (see 'The Histories,' by Herodotus) and others journed to the Zimbabwe region to South Africa and possibly arond the cape. The Book, "Susu Economics: The History of Pan-African Trade, Commerce, Money and Wealth," discuses this ancient history to every detail.

It is known that the Queen of Punt was called Queen Ati. It is also known that over the past few years, the region from Somalia to South Africa has revealed some facinating archeological remains that predate the Swahili Civilization by thousands of years. In fact, the Egyptians give a clue of the presence of settlements along the coast of East Africa before 1500 BC. A picture on the wall of Hatshepsut's temple show houses, people and a Puntite entourage with Queen Ati going to meet the Egyptians.

Zimbabwe (and the rest of Southern Africa, East Africa) were well organized in ancient times. In fact, Chinese procelain from imported wares are found throughout the East African region down to Southern Africa. These were imported by Africans in ancient times.

Hence, Africans in Zimbabwe or any part of Africa for that matter were not wallowing in ignorance and saved by foreigners. Africans in Zimbabwe and the rest of Africa knew how to farm and used effecient methods that have worked for thousands of years. Zimbabwe was a major producer of rice in ancient times. Rice terraces similar to those in parts of Asia were used, irrigation, other techniques were applied.

AFRICA'S LANDS FOR FEEDING AFRICAN PEOPLE FIRST AND FOREMOST

It may shock some people, but Africa is the world's major producer of food YEAR ROUND. That means that Africa produces food when much of the Northern Hemisphere is facing winter. Added to that, Africa also produces most of the world's major and most important crops, whether they are wheat, corn, bananas, sugar, coffee, cocoa, sweet potatoes, oranges, lemons, coconuts, rice, peanuts and countless others. Africa also has some of the largest cattle, sheep and livestock herds anywhere on earth.

The sad irony is that many of these crops are being plated, harvested and prepared for foreign consumption while Africans starve. The only solution to this genocidal form of production is for Africans to control the production of their own lands and take care of the needs of Africans first and foremost.

THE ISSUE OF FARMERS AND THEIR ROLE IN ANY NATION

Many who study, support and see Rastafari as a strong and important movement want a change from the religious concentration to more practical educational, scientific, cultural and economic aspect. This desire is paramount because Rastafari as a movement has the potential to create the systems needed to train people to get the knowledge required for development, whether it is building boats and planes to developing methods to produce rain, to space technology, to agricultural producers. The emphasis on education, scientific, cultural and economic development more than mere religious belief and dogma PLACES RASTARARI IN A VERY IMPORTAT PLACE IN THE EYES OF PAN-AFRICANS WHO WANT DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE AND NOT EXPLOITATION.

As discissed in a previous article on Zimbabwe (by a colleague), Africans have not dislike for people based on their appearance but on their past and present behavior. Hence, it is not surprising that farmers are being asked to return. It makes sense to all put a hand in helping develop Zimbabwe. Yet, uniting and organizing, educating and forming networks with Pan-Africans and those who will help Zimbabwe without a political, imperialistic or vindictive agenda is also helpful. (The powerful Black African-American College and University System, that of the Caribbean where some of the world's best agriculturalists have been taught since the late 1800's - like the great inventor George W. Carver of Tuskeegee University, Tuskeegee, Alabama, who invented over 200 products from the peanut and sweet potato MORE ON THIS www.blackfamilychannel.com (BLACK COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES, USA).

Are Africans supposed to trust those promoting genocide in Sudan? Are Africans supposed to trust those who continue to exploit Africa's resources, watch Africans starve and blame Africans for their own starvation? If Africa's water supply along the Nile is being swollowed by Egypt, the Arabs and other Middle Eastern nations, WHILE ETHIOPIA, SUDAN, AND OTHER AFRICA NATIONS ARE FACING DROUGHT, who is to blame, when that water comes from inner Africa. Why do the Arabs in Egypt get to use all the Nile's water. Why do foreign elements contribute to genocide in Sudan so they can have African lands cleared of its people so parasitic nations can have acces to oil?

When these situations occur, Africans have no choice but to dispise those perpetrating this type of genocide. The colonial element (European, Middle Eastern, others) are responsible for the starvation and genocide that is occurring in Africa today. It is the sacred duty of Pan-Africans to stop this genocide and unite to bring about a better future.
