I think that this is the problem at work here. Some are attracted to Haile Selassie I because he is black and others are repulsed by HIM for that very same reason. Some are attracted to Haile Selassie I because he is righteous and others are repulsed by HIM for that very same reason. Some equate black with righteous and therefore non-black with non-righteous.
To me black and righteous are not exclusive to each other. I worship Haile Selassie I because he is righteous. No other reason is necesary. Should I not see the righteousness of Haile Selssie I because he is black and I am not? To me that would be a truly (self)destructive behaviour.
