In response to the question,
The truth is what the truth is. The thing about the truth, it is usually the controller who controls the truth. Indeed it's they who control the present, who can manipulate the past in order to dictate the future.
However, as the architect stated "they are those who refuse to accept the programme and in doing so present a escalating probability of rebellion"..(against the mis-truth).
To quote Neo, I rebel because I choose to, not because I am a troublemaker, or because I have a chip on my shoulder, but because I know that the system that we live under is false, and I want to discover the truth, and that is the truth! :-)
