and perhaps we are sensitive to that word only because we have been proliferated with and enjoy the privileges of western society's pedestaling of males above female.

Also, the 'superiority' word bothers our comfort levels, especially in light of the implementations of white/male supremacy. So this rejection of that term is understandable.

But we must overstand the context.

The masculine/male 'serves' the feminine/female but NOT in a subordinate hierarchical manner. There is no example whatsoever to the contrary except for man-made implementations.
