Some interesting comments…
I agree with Sis Reuben when she said:
“I do not believe that JA is the best place on EARTH BECAUSE IT IS STILL BABLYON. IT MAY BE A LITTLE EASIER LIFE TO LIVE AND CLOSER TO NATURE, BUT ULIMATELY ZION IS OUR HOME. And I know plenty of jamaican Bobo brethren that would firmly agree with this.” Not just Bobo, ALL RAsta. Yes, Jamaica is still Babylon, but still the best part of Babylon.
Re her comments about the EOC,
“And with all due raspect, the ethopian orthodox faith ask you to denount his majesty's divinity before you can commit to their faith. Futhermore in Toronto, Canada, they will ask you to leave the church service if you believe that Haile Selassie is God. So, I guess I must go because Haile Selassie is the God that I worship and Africa is my home where I will rest my head in due time.”
Yes the Western priests make all sorts of demands on their following, but I&I Rastafari take the essence of the faith that the Emperor defended and ignore the ‘rules’ of the priests – which have included trimming of locks, etc. The FAITH is not the Church of men&people, who do not and cannot understand when I&I maintain the Divinity of the GodMan who showed I&I the true Light of CHRIST-hood, to which I&I should aspire. I may not attend the church building, but I totally uphold the FAITH and I-story of the I-thiopian Orthodox CHRIST-ianity.
Nice words from Ras Kamau, Mona brethren. Hail up! The studio is still there. As he said:
“…black consciousness is a facet of rasta but not The essence(ones may see it differently but its how i feel.” I look forward to your post - Out of Many one People.
Shushan also had an interesting comment:
“Because Rastafari being so rooted in JA there is a certain assurance harder to get for others.” Hmmmm…..
Ras Adam Simeon spoke well on behalf of White Rastas: “…It seems odd to pick the white rasta as a target since they are hailing a Black King and trying to live upright. There's many other people like our so called leaders who should be getting fire for perpetrating inequity. “
And Ras Tikur is still asking if it is a good thing to see Rastafari from different perspectives. In my opinion, time will tell.
ONE LOVE
