Re: Are Jamaican Rastas Different?
In Response To: Are Jamaican Rastas Different? ()

Thanks for the post.

When you are closer to the root of a faith, you will tend to keep more of the foundational principles than if you are further from the root.

Rastafari is no different.

Buddhism is practiced differently in Tibet than it is in America and Europe.

The same goes for Islam practiced in Arab word and western world.

Perceptions of faith and religion is shaped by culture.

It is obvious that Jamaican culture is different from American culture.

It takes a greater sacrifice for a white man to go into the bush and hail Rastafari in JA than it does to sit behind a computer screen in America or Europe.

This may be why white Rases are more accepted in JA due to this sacrifice and perceived passion for Rastafari.

As far as having knowledge of Africa is concerned, I think it is vital.

With the access to the internet, information is available now that wasnot available before.

Before, I and I thought that the Bible was the beginning of I and I glorious history.

Now it is known that the bible was adopted from faiths, cultures, and beliefs predating it.

Polygamy is not something that is stressed in American society, other than in the Mormon church.

It would think it would be more accepted in Carribean cultures which are closer to indigineous African livity.

I think what is more of concern than the different daily practices is how Kedamawee Hayl Salasse is viewed.

I and I cant come to an agreeance on that foundation point so it is no wonder that I and I would have different ways to express I and I love of the creator.

His Majesty say faith is personal.

So I ask if it is a good thing to see Rastafari from different perspectives?

Igziyahbeher Amlak Rastafari!
