I hope that you know in "your heart" that it is unjust and unfair that an individual OR group (white people)get Unearned Privileges and Benefit based on skin color and on the backs of the Oppression of an individual OR group (black people).
And here lies the toad, so they say...
The benefit I recieve based on my skin color is one built upon a long history of racism and hatred. It is not one that I asked for, and if I could give it back, mark my words, I would. To hold me accountable for that benefit is simply not logical. When I walk into a store, the cashier does not look at me and think "watch him, he's gonna steal something." I recieve that benefit on a daily basis, and I'm sorry. Thoughts such as those are socially conditioned through media and other outlets and reinforced with hate and lies and propaganda. I am aware of this. But I am also aware that not all white people have such thoughts. Also, there are those that do have compulsions towards those thoughts, yet are aware of them and actively supress them in the face of logic.
QUOTE:
Are we capable of being outraged by that? Black people("based on skin color") are being killed right now to sustain YOUR COMFORT....you said yourself that killing people based on skin color is wrong. This is what has been going on and is going NOW.
Response:
not only are black people being killed to sustain my comfort (and yours if you are lowermiddle - upper class in america) but iraqi people as well and countless others. (non-whites)
But to say that those things are racially motivated strikes me as somewhat absurd. And to hold me accountable for such deeds??
