DISAGREEMENT: America is only 200 years old, indigenous genocide is much older. It started with Papal Bulls authorizing/regulating enslavement and land conquest and in 1492 the ball was rolling thanks to the "discoveries" of Columbus/Cristobal Colon (colon-ize)
AGREEMENT: perhaps it's not such a new problem, but the will to find a SOLUTION to the problem is fairly new. (ex. abolition of slavery)
