Where did the man say he doesn't sight Selassie I as a significant leader etc. He just said that he personally does not sight Selassie I as literally the Almighty in flesh, from what I got from his comment. I know many Rastas who do, also many who don't.
Haile Selassie I said to read the Bible "with a clear conscience" and "accept its great message". This to me does not indicate that one should follow everything in the Bible literally, or ignore other sources of instruction/inspiration that pre-date it. The GREAT MESSAGE in the Bible to I is the same great message that could be found in other spiritual traditions.
To I Haile Selassie I represents God in flesh yes... as do we all. That is I view, you can call it blasphemy or what have you. One rastaman in my family would always say, pointing to the photo of HIM on his wall, "Selassie I is not 'the messiah', YOU are the messiah, Selassie I come to show you that."
There is room for more than one iterpretation of who is HIM in Rastafari.
