Nicholas, in fact Bob did not renounce Rastafari. On his deathbed he was telling his mama, "Don't say God. Say Selassie-I." I saw this in interview with mama Cedella.

Since (many? most?) Rastas see Selassie-I as the fulfillment of the Book, many do not feel it is inconsistent to consider themselves true church christians and jews. I know Christians find it difficult to accept this. O well I could say somethin like time will tell, and until then love. We worship one Father, after all.
