peace and hotep,
Ras Marcus......Raspect.
respect.....?:
"esteem for or a sense of the worth or excellence of a person, a personal quality or ability, or something considered as a manifestation of a personal quality or ability.
deference to a right, privilege, privileged position, or someone or something considered to have certain rights or privileges; proper acceptance or courtesy; acknowledgment.
deference - respectful submission or yielding to the judgment, opinion, will, etc., of another."
Ras Marcus please forgive my cutting and pasting. i do it for organizational purposes.
when you state:
"it is just an amazing disgrace that a race of people who were once known as the founders of civilization, can allow themselves to be brought down to such degrading living conditions.",
can what we perceive as 'civilization' merely be a 'first step'? is the position that we presently find ourselves only our later projection on a pathe from that 'first step'? does our quest for 'civilization' like our quest for 'humanity' bring us closer to human and/or civilized states of being?
or does continuuing continuum prove that we are no higher than the breast beating chimps and or apes?
again, what is man/mankind?:
" What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?"
untapped potential for higher self respect.
if mankinds only reason for existing is for the production of justice, surely that grand effort requires a vast number of small 'steps'. meanwhile we mankind continues as a series of immature 'barbaric hordes'.
Ras Marcus, when you state:
"We as black people are just too disrespectful of each other, as a result we are using guns which were not made by us to kill our wives, our brothers, our sisters and most times black people who we do not know, we have become disrespectful of our race just too much. We call each other niggers and dogs, and we under estimate our selves so much that we answer to those names",
ini calls the west/waste babylon but in truth doesn't babylon occupy the entire globe. the result of multiplying uncontrollably with no sense of purpose. the babbel and confusing tongues of baby's first steps towards civilization.
Ras Marcus, if one baby is born and raise withe no sense of purpose (the production of justice), sometimes when that baby gets in trouble, it may blame the trouble on an innocent since it has not determined for itself just how to produce justice. that purposeless child may eventually aquire a sense of purpose by lengthy periods of trials and errors. after working hard each one of us may "acquire a Degree in Self Respect".
as for White or Non-White Self Respect,
i would think that such concepts are only illusory. causing illusion; deceptive; misleading or of the nature of an illusion; unreal because:
"respect is esteem for or a sense of the worth or excellence" since neither White or Non-White Self Respecting Ones has produced a world where justice and correctness prevail based on worth or excellence.
Ras Marcus,
when you state:
"We must first respect our selves and our race in general, before we can even begin, to lift our race out of the degrading conditions in which we are living."
isn't this the original sin?
do non'white' people constitute "a Race" or are we the progenitors of The Race (White People) that has become the greatest promotor of injustice and incorrectness in the known universe. evidently, White People are playing catch-up because they perceive themselves as being left behind during ini's 'first steps'. as you describe presently, now, we are feeling the wrath of all of our mistreated child.
as long as past, present and future tensions reside there can not be any
harmony -unity, peace, friendship, agreement; accord; or
harmonious relations in this known universe.
not even in this small room called Rastaspeaks.
by seeking advantage over nature, immature mankind chose notions of manifest destinies withe out deference to justice.
are there consequences for not abiding by right actions? yes.
right vs wrong supercedes time consuming searches for absolute truths.
for every cause there is an effect and for every effect there is a cause. could harmony involve this? could dis-harmony come from ignoring this?
Ras Marcus, it seems like self respect is a lot to ask of so-called babylonians or self-called civilizers.......
until then, let's put some salve on 'original sin'.
