peace and hotep,
iyah360, surely you have knowledge of the theft of the matrix by 'whites'. until that case is resolved what we assume as the good intentions may not be seen as yet. think about it, if an african amorican woman's dream has been deferred, the producer's of the matrix trilogy has committed the most grievious of 'thoughtcrime'. can you imagine what that woman is possibly going through. i don't overstand why bantu-kelani hasn't made this point but i respect her reserve.
iyah360, when you refer to the people trapped inside of the matrix, i beg you to consider that scenario from the possible vantage point of that sister who alleges that the concept was stolen like many other contributions of africans. imagine when you say:
"That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save . . . You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it." ,
as describing the non'whites' withe in an overwelming 'white' matrix. i find it difficult that such an honest concept is 'hollywood' but when neo becomes the neo-superman i overstand.
'if you do not understand white supremacy(racism) --- what it is, and how it works --- everything else that you understand, will only confuse you.' neely fuller jr
