as another white guy i&i think that perhaps it works like this. Rasta is concerned with truth and part of truth is a concern for justice, or at the very least equality. It does not take much thinking to work out that the slave trade was evil, and that the world, irrespective of the colour of the people we are talking about here, should work towards redressing the wrong that was done. There will be practical difficulties, and many obstacles to overcome, but that does not stop the cause of justice from being a righteous one.

There are other open wounds of inequality that i&i think that rasta should also be concerned with, discrimination against women, child exploitation, and an example from my own country, the dispossesion of indigenous people from their land.

A rasta will be vitally interested in all of these things, both because of rastas cultural roots as a dynamic black movement, and also because, to me at least, a rasta should always seek truth, and be unafraid of the consequences of this truth.
