Hail Rasta! Iman played capoeira for about 4 months before I moved cities, and haven't found another class yet. I want to get back seriously into the martial arts, I have a question for you: from my experience of capoeira, it seems like you have to be quite advanced in the art in order to use it practically for self-defence. Would you agree with me on that? Cos I'm trying to decide what to get involved in, I loved playing capoeira, but it seems arts like tae kwon do (which I did as a kid) may provide more practical pay-off in terms of self-defense skills more quickly. What you think?
By the way one thing I noticed when playing capoeira was that the sessions were gruelling, 3 hours of pushing your body to the limit, but afterwards instead of feeling exhausted I would feel such a rush of energy I felt like I could run up a mountain!
Jah bless.
