Re: AXÉ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greetings Gman, AXÉ,
The salutation the brethren use in Capoeira is "salve";means save!
1- The first story is also strange to me. It would be very unlikely for people on the streets to do that. Remember, Capoeira was prohibited until de 30's! The police in Brasil is very opressive and Capoeira still is something of the "lower" classes.
The story I know is the opposite, people would change the rythim of the berimbaus to Cavalaria, wich means the police on horses. So, by doing that they would keep stricly the dance, as trying to say it wasn't anything dangerous luke a fight.
But for some people including me, this is also very unlikely. Remember, all kinds of african cultural expressions were forbidden, so a dance would be as persecuted as a fight. Yet, the rythim cavalaria exists and the story people tell us is that it was used to tell that the police was coming. Who knows if it's really true.
2-It's true about the razor blades, but the cloth on the neck is actually, silk, and the use is correct.
3-You can use hands, but they are complementary. They help the legs. But yes, there are some interesting things with the hands.

Guidance, raspect!!!!!!
