I have no problem with people reading/studying the bible no more than I have a problem with people reading any other book. Like H.I.M said, if read with a clear conscience/esoterically, then it contains truth.
During the time of the Greco-Roman bible(NT), there were at least 24 gospels. When compiling the bible together, the priests chose only 4, with the ok of Emperor Constantine. The others were thrown out because they might have caused a stir in the church. In other words, they will have revealed a truth that the church, nor the state wanted to get out.
The bible is just a snapshot in the history of mankind, particularly hebrews, arabs, romans and greeks. All we have to do is look at the original language that it was written in to see who it was written by/for.
To project the bible that was written for a certain group of people, to be a book written for ALL people is a mistake in my opinion. Other indigenous cultures have their own writing and traditions that predate the compilation of the bible.
They should not have to acknowledge the bible in order to have an upful livity with a close connection with the Irator.
Rastafari people included.
After all, the original people were living in accord with nature eons before the bible was first bound as a book.
