Is this meant to support my argument for personal responsibility and accountibility? Property taxes are not in the purview of the Federal Government, that's your Municipal (town, city or county) Authorities.

I believe I posted Bill Moyers' expose on corporate money flowing into the elections of Municipal Judges, along with his story on a group of conscientious citizens who are doing their best to hold local elected officials accountable.

I believe back in '07/'08 we discussed the culpability of municipal authorities and their contribution to the eventual housing collapse. Recently, one of the networks did a story on the continuing urban sprawl in Arizona; its the municipal authorities that issue permits for these unsustainable, new construction projects, that stretch our natural resources (water) and public services, (fire, police, schools) and result in us having to pay additional taxes.

Excessive permiting is responsible for the abandoned residential developments that line the I-15 from California to Nevada, some of which have already been bulldozed by Bank of America. I doubt seriously if most voters read their ballot information booklets, they prefer instead to rely on emotional political ads, rather than doing their own investigations, so in the end they get what they deserve. The construction boom of the nineties did nothing to improve the economy of California; firstly the contractors licensing board (another municipal bureaucracy) along with their corporate backers (large developers like KB homes, etc.) have made it impossible for independent local contractors, to bid on these unnecessary projects, then these developers hire for the most part undocumented workers, as was the complaint in Colorado a few years ago. This occured on a massive scale in Southern California. If you add to this loss of tax revenue, the tax breaks granted to these corporate developers, where is the benefit to the community?

So I'm not surprised that these same municipal authorities are at it again. Though it does beg the question, why is the Tea Party so mad at Washington, when primary authority for their plight is right under their nose?
