A quick view of their websites will inform you that the very same banks that received bailout money are once again financing unsustainable, runaway housing developments, so how does HUD shifting their support from homeownership to affordable rentals help the common man? A HUD switch from subsidizing homes to condos or apartments will merely result in a switch from runaway single family home building to runaway multi-family home building.
