and what a great piece of no nonsense analysis there patriotwarrior!
The idea that Africa is overpopulated is just another classic example of blaming the victim. There is starvation and resource inequality in Africa, but that isnt so much because there are too many people, but a problem of distribution and the world bank obsession with producing goods for export rather than domestic consumption.
Besides which, the idea of population limits is a very local one. Even in a place like asia, which looks on paper to be bursting at the seams there are huge amouts of 'empty' land. It is more that population can tend to be CONCENTRATED in unsustainable places. Climate change isnt helping either, with large populations that are reliant on agriculture being located in places where this is becoming less and less viable.
Now if you wanted to make an argument that the whole earth is potentially overpopulated.....
