It’s sad but true. I have been told by many Continental Africans (predominantly French speaking Africans), that my convictions and revelations are worthless, unneeded, irrational, or illogical. Many Africans I know in Europe talk about Europe as if it's their continent. As stupid as it sounds when they hear me talking about going back to Africa to live they find me flat-out even more ridiculous to look anywhere else aside from Europe or America. Many French speaking Caribbean folk rarely identify with our struggle too, and many times all of them have refused to reach out to the French forum in this website for solidarity and support.
So I followed them where they are in their websites, but my experience in their forums has always been just the opposite of what’s going on here. French speaking Continental Africans and Caribbean folk argue with me vehemently, while standing up against each other. This type of xenophobia is REAL and militancy is not the order of the day for them. That makes me want to cry, and each time I say I'd never go back in their forums but I still go and I stand alone.
Yes I admit, Diasporians (predominantly the English speaking folk) spend the most time understanding our position and stratum on the world stage, and do not fear the sacrifice needed to call for more freedom. It has been African American friends who educated me about our political struggle, cultural reorientation, and spiritual renaissance when I came in America. Before, I didn’t know a lot about Africa and our oppression. The first time I didn’t trust them, I had no love for them, but they shared with me anyway because they said they had love for me.
I still have conversations with Continental Africans that unable me to admit this sad truth: Continentals (predominantly French speaking Africans) are the ones the least unable to admit that white people are deeply and tragically troubled and the most dangerous and destructive people. So therefore, too many practice the rainbow coalition with white people. I KNOW it’s what’s going on in France where I lived for a couple of years, and it aint pretty!
