Why are you pointing your finger at Black feminism when the history of African society abounds with the role of women as leaders? African traditional societies were less sexist as compared to other peoples. As a result it was possible for both men and women to have headship positions. For example the Supreme Being in most African societies was given a feminine image. Laws were made to protect the sanctity of women and prominent shrines and rituals were dedicated to the Goddesses because female fertility was accessible to all. While Western societies focused on authoritarianism and power-ego patriarchy, the matriarchal cultures on the other hand nurtured cooperation, parternership and created much of human civilization.
The all powerful-terrifying reputation of Black females today is due their addiction to the western male norms of power, aggressiveness and control. Our women and female have been held in mental brainwashing and oppression for too long due western male arrogance and due to their own ignorance. Hence, it’s important for our Black male to realize that feminism in African traditional cultures was a mode of Divine Consciousness. If our women and female relocate their power and sexuality in the traditional philosophy, beliefs or faiths of our ancient African ancestors, then their behaviors will be less condemning.
