There is a difference between stereotyping white people and acknowledging that because of history and the way we are brought up in this society causes us to view things through the haze of privilege.

I think I see why reasoning about white privilege is hard - perhaps it is because it is equated with hating on people because of their skin color. I think that is why it has been easier for me - I have never equated it that way. I would not doubt that perhaps some hide behind the argument to hate on people because of skin color - but the fundamental issue is a real one, and I can't waste my time worrying about how the issue could be used as a cover for someone else's hate. ANY issue can be a cover for an ulterior motive.

Bredren - we all are struggling - all colors of people - as HUMAN BEINGS - we all are faced with overcoming the ills of vanity and materialism and the other dust on the mirror of the clear mind - dealing with a specific issue such as white privilege is in no way negating the HUMAN fact that we all have these ills we need to deal with, regardless of skin color.
