This is the load of crap that is bringing Zimbabwe down. But should we be surprised that the AU leaders won't face the Zimbabwe issue? After all, they are all tyrants and there is nothing they can criticise Mugabe about that they are not doing in their own countries.

You should have seen the inaugeration ceremony when President Mugabe "won" the elections in 2002. Usually, the ceremony is held at the Stadium, with ordinary folks invited. This time it was at State House, amidst tight security. Invited guests included Arap Moi of Kenya and Muammar Qaddafi of Libya. Need I say more.

Meanwhile, soldiers were going around the townships ( only Blacks live there, these are residential areas built during the racist colonial era) beating up people as a punishment coz the urban areas voted overwhelmingly for the opposition, while the rural folk were too sacred to do otherwise. By the way, people in the West only hear about the disturbances when ONE white person gets hurt or killed, because the international media really doesn't care when a black president makes black people suffer.

This is the problem we have, where we Blacks will not address a problem caused by another Black person for fear of being seen as a sell-out. Like when a girl is being raped by her father and the whole family decides to keep silent for fear of the "shame a disclosure will bring on the whole family".

So if the AU gives Mugabe the thumbs up, then what does that say about it? It is like when the League okayed Italy.
