My lists of things that affect the collective are, deceptions hidden within pleasantries, regurgitated Europeanisms (Racism and Gender discrimination), and derogatory remarks. The two you have listed are simpler for some to detect but these platitudes of "one love" and "we are all equal" are the true opium if not carefully investigated. I feel one must always lift the veil of those who come with these altruistic ideals. If they are sincere they will welcome the scrutiny.
For example, I can easily say you and I are friends and I admire you and if you casually accept the platitudes, all that does is disarm you and cause you to overlook sinister deceptions. That is the reason I rarely compliment anyone. I take my time, observe and meditate before I comment.
I hear you and understand your points.
With respect, Aisha
