Cultural 'Education'

Irie, Irie

Me do hope the I have the capacity to see that other cultures than you own is very happy being barefoot and pregnant! Come now. Never 'uneducated' for true, me surely agree with that, but 'educated' by who? In who standards? Western world standard? You ever give any thought to the idea that maybe YOU may have something to learn by going to one of the African peoples them and living amongst them, barefoot pon the plains in them fine grass houses, and maybe YOU may have something to learn?!

We so called 'third world' people always treated as though we ignorant, stupid, undereducated, idiot by 'modern' intellectual college peace corp workers an such, who never once give IanI the credit or dignity we deserve. You think RASTA be all about conforming to western world values and 'educations'? So as to be...what? I seen this going on for some time now and It PAIN me heart!

Maybe the I's need to come to the islands and spend the day at the river washing the clothes them and the babies them and laughing and playing, rather than walled up inside some concrete city, studying hard and getting you degree and never knowing the true LIVITY.

Stop lookin pon IanI as 'under'neath you 'educated better than I' ones! Me Rasta Father no never read nor write a word in his whole life, yet Him a the SMARTEST man me ever know! Him Wisdom exceed all any college professor me ever encounter, any Wall Street executive, any corporate ceo, any doctor or lawyer. And yet all a them would a look pon Him as some 'dirty, nasty, Rastaman'.

So, now what? You want to take Him and Him dawtas and clean them up all nice and pretty and make them presentable in the sight of Babylon!! Shoes and business suit and 2.5 babies? Lexus and gated driveway to the concrete mansion?

Me know me on a bit of a rampage here. Give thanks, eh? But, IanI a the "voice cryin in the WILDERNESS"! Do not forsake IanI people of NATURAL LIVITY. JAH people. RASTAFARI!!!!

Thanks and Praise
IanI Rastafari
