ATTENTION,ATTENTION, ANOTHER IMPORTANT NEWS FLASH.

This is to inform all African people at home and abroad, that Ras Historian the African patriot and Liberator, passsed away on Sunday the 13th of July at 6am in the morning. Ras Historian was very active in governmental activities of the Rastafari people's movement, as well as being also very active in the upliftment of African people in general. He was the President of the United Vendors Association an organization which had members throughout the fourteen Parishes of Jamaica. An organization which had its members traveling to various countries of the world to buy merchandise, and to re-sell them at a more reasonable price than the established merchants, who's prices were out of the reach of the poorer people in the land.

Because the organization was so very helpful in making life better for African people, twenty six and a half Mark Lane in Kingston Jamaica, which was the Head Quarters of the United Vendors Association, became a very busy place from early morning to sunset evenings, every business day of the year. There were various kinds of people coming to the office on a daily basis who were not vendors but who were business men and women who were trying to get a piece of the action, some of them were trying to sell products to the vendors to prevent them from traveling abroad, and they were introducing samples of various products in order to get us to influence our members to do business with them.

Then there was the regular people who heard about how helpful the organization was to its members, and so they came to join the organization and to get their indentification card, so that they could be recognized as members of the United Vendors Association. There were also government agents who came just see if the organization was legal and walk away when they realize that it was.

More money was being circulated among black people in those days, as a result of the large amount of vendors who were active on the streets in business, since they had to pay the taxi men and hand cart men to move their goods around morning and evening, then they had to eat when they were hungry so the food vendors made some money, then there were those who sold drinks and sky juice, and so much more services which were able to make a living as a result of the United Vendors Association.

When some vendors had to travel abroad, they hired people to sell their goods while they are abroad, so there again employment was created. Then at the Head quarters itself, there were typist and other assistants who help with load of work which had to be done, some went to various meetings, while some help new members to filout their applications for membership, while others travel to the country parts to help out members who do their business in the country towns like May Pen and Mandeville and other places.

This is just a brief illustration of how active and useful the United Vendors Association was to African people evrywhere, and I must say to you all, that quarter of the actions which took place in those days are still not told, but I will say much more, as I turn the pages of my memories, and more is revealed to me.

So, now that Ras Historian has passed away he and his great works, shoud not be forgotten by African people, who were helped by the United Vendors Association of which Ras Historian was President, but he should be remembered and be respected and a great Tribute should be paid to him and his works, by all African people in the Island of Jamaica and by African people every- where. Ras Historian was a very active Governmental agitator. He loved his people with all his heart. Take the best care of yourself and your people.

Ras Historian passed as a very poor, sickly and broken person, his son was killed by our own black youths, they invaded 69 church street where he and other Rastafari people lived, and chased them away with their guns, which caused him to retire in Old Harbour St. Catherine with his younger son, contributions are welcomed to assist in putting away his remains.
