Haile Selassie I was not a pure, tall, robust Black/African similar in looks to Mandingos, Yorubas, Nubians or Nuers. He was a Semitic mulatto with light skinned, Caucasian features and dark circles around the eyes, features that are similar to the southern Arabs. Moreover, like all the Amhara people, this feudal monarch EMPHATICALLY and PROUDLY traced his fundamental ancestry from the people who came from what is modern-day Yemen Semitic. The Amharas call themselves “Amhara” because of the word “amari” meaning "pleasing, agreeable, beautiful and gracious." I wonder to whom they consider themselves "beautiful and gracious". To the dark-skinned African/Negroid Ethiopians who had not yet mixed with the invaders from the Semitic lands perhaps? Knowing this, no flawed history or propaganda will make me believe these people are pure Black/Africans and/or are proud members of the Black race.

Go and ask the southern half of Ethiopia, the groups such as the OROMO (relatives of the Boran-Gabara-Orma people in Kenya) and numerous others their status in this country? They will tell you it has been similar to the status of the South Sudanese vis a vis the ruling and Arab Sudanese in the north of the Sudan. I believe this to be true, for I am too aware of ther humiliating nature of their oppression. It has been kept on a low profile for too long that the non-Abyssinian populations were all but mere slaves to the Abyssinians for centuries. The Reign of Tafari Mekonnen alias Haile Selassie was no different.
