Re: question
In Response To: Re: question ()

I am not sure what the reprocutions of believing in such otherworldly demons would be, Iman cannot really comment on what the effects this belief has on people that believe in it. Also I am not too aware about the practices and beliefs of other cultural systems when it comes to unembodied spirits... I have heard and read about certian cultural practices of lending ones body to the spirit of an ancestor so that spirit may be temporarily embodied- but that is quite different in the respect that we are already the embodied spiritual momentum of our anscetors... A ceremony for purposes of agknowledging this reality is different (in Isight) than believing in unembodied ghosts and demons.

To Iman, a demon is a man who thinks he is greater than other men. A man who thinks he is greater than Jah, and in so doing acts out of evil instead of good. I think that cultures who have followed such leaders end up believing that "The Devil" can posses them- becuase if that were to happen then they, as a soul/person, are not responsible for the actions that "The Devil" does while he is possesing them...

Pretty serious stuff, Iman hope it does not seem obtuse or audacious to say, but- It seems like ones who believe in this kind of being spiritualy "possesed" are probobly just suffering from the influence that an evil leader has exercised over them... Making it appear as though one isnt acountable for ones actions. Especially if this leader or leadership system (many leaders) openly subscribe to such irresponsible doctrines as a justification or seperation from their own action for which they have entire ownership, making it seem acceptable. Iman see it like this- unless one was lead to believe that there are evil demon spirits, who are apart from physical existance, by another (evil)man- than what evidence or actions of these spirits is directly observable to the I? How would one know they exist unless they were told by somone else? Do dogs birds and elephants seem effected by ethiric demons, or do they just live their lives?
