You are right of course, the Kamau referred to the Void as Nu/Nun. The Void is also spoken of by many traditions as being a body of infinite waters. However, this idea that the source of everything is nothing does not seem to be one that is universally acceptable. Yet, if one merely looks at the etymology of the word "nothing" (without going into quantum physics) it will be plain to see that the ones who made the word up were talking about "no thing". Now, unless one believes that existence (and reality) consists only of objects (i.e. things), then one must surely be able to see that the word "nothing" by itself cannot be taken as an assertion that there is no creation present in the space/time being refferred to.
