Peace Sista kaya, I gon answer your questions with more questions...
1) Don't the majority of Rastas indeed acknowledge Christ and try to follow his teachings, if not necessarily worship him?
2) If "Jesus" was God, why did he teach people to pray to "Our Father" (Lord's prayer), and not to him himself?
And a next one... where in the Bible does "Jesus Christ" come out and directly say he is God? Not the woman by the well saying that he's God, not any parable or veiled reference, but a direct quote saying: "I am God. Worship me."
To my knowledge Christ never said that, just like Selassie never said that. Correct me if I'm wrong (but as you know I don't take the Bible too literally anyway... it is written through the eyes of men... for eg., the different apostles have different accounts of the same man, Christ...)
A next question: How seriously would Haile Selassie have been taken as an international statesman (by other heads of states, the U.N., etc.) if he had come out and directly stated he was God?
Would he not have been looked on as a madman and put at risk every diplomatic intitiative he could have made on Ethiopia's behalf?
Sorry me have more questions than answers but that's how me stay... Respek... P.S. I ain't forgotten about that poem, I just wanna take my time and do it right for de youtman Tafari, not just scribble down any old ting, seen?
